Star Building Rigid Frames
A Star buildings can be any size or shape, but there are six basic frames, that provide a good starting point. These six, break into two types, clear span and multiple span:
CLEAR SPAN
Tapered Column
These are often used for tennis courts, soccer fields, indoor rec. centers, gymnasiums, riding arenas, agricultural equipment and grain storage.
Widths from 30' to 300' and wider. Heights from 10' to 60' and higher.
Straight Column
These are often used, for offices, small commercial, or free-standing retail, where a clear span is required.
Widths from 16' to 120' and wider. Heights from 8' to 60' and higher.
Straight Column - Single Slope
These are often used, for shopping centers, convenience stores, and fire stations, or where drainage is a problem.
Widths from 15' to 120' and wider. Heights from 8' to 60' and higher.
MULTIPLE SPAN
Tapered Column
These are often used, for warehouses, manufacturing, industrial and distribution centers, where high eaves and a large square footage is needed.
Widths from 10' to 600' and wider. Heights from 20' to 60' and higher
Straight Column
These are often used, for warehouses, manufacturing, industrial, or distribution centers when a large square footage is required.
Widths from 10' to 600' and wider. Heights from 20' to 60' and higher.
Single Slope
These are often used, for warehouses, manufacturing, industrial and distribution centers, where high eaves and a large square footage is needed.
